Technical details of the sympathetic block (ESB) and recovery process after the operation:
-No eating or drinking <6 hour before the operation
-Light anesthesia, duration of the operation including anesthesia 30-60 minutes
-Procedure is performed using both-sided thoracoscopy. Two small wounds (1cm) are made to both side (1 to armpit and 1 5 cm lateral from nipple). Scars are not easily seen after some months
-Two troacars are put to the thoracal cavity and via them CO2 gas is put to the thoracal cavity. In the end of the operation all gas is suctioned away
-Titan clips are put as follows:
T2 Block: 2 clips are put above T2 ganglion and 1 clip under it
T3 Block: 2 clips are put above T3 ganglion and 1 clip under it
T4 Block: 2 clips are put above T4 ganglion and 1 clip under it
After operation:
-After the operation breath sounds are listened using stethoscope and after that the patient can start eating
-4 hours after the operation patient can go to hotel and he/she can go home during the first postoperative day
-Heavy work/sport is recommended to avoid 2 weeks
-Light job can be done after 3 days and heavy work after 1 week
-Absorbable stitches go away at 2 weeks
-Email message concerning the result of the procedure by the patient is hoped at 1 month
